3d investors is a Belgian private investment firm that invests in medium-sized, fast-growing companies with strong products or services in niche markets. It does not limit itself to specific sectors and has backed businesses in areas such as staffing and consulting, outdoor lighting and furniture, marine communication equipment, audio systems, public procurement software, dairy, and building materials. Backed by Belgian family shareholders, the firm typically acquires majority stakes, occasionally takes minority positions, pursues buy-and-build strategies, and holds participations for seven to ten years on average. It invests primarily in Belgium and the Netherlands and has also expanded portfolio companies into France and North America. Founded in 1992, the firm is headquartered in Ghent, Belgium, with an additional office in Amsterdam.
