Questions

Questions owners ask

Short answers before you sign up.

Who buys private companies?

Two main groups: trade buyers, which are other companies in the same or a nearby industry, and private equity firms. AcquityData lets you search past deals in your sector and see which of each kind bought, when, and which advisors worked on the deal.

How do I find private equity firms that buy businesses in my industry?

Open Firms, filter by industry focus, size class, country and the deal types they do, then read the profile of each match. Each profile shows the firm's criteria, portfolio companies and when it invested.

Does AcquityData tell me what my company is worth?

No. It shows deals and the values recorded for them, which are background, not a valuation or advice. A qualified advisor can value your company.

Can I list my company for sale on AcquityData?

No. AcquityData is a research database. It is not a marketplace or a broker, and it does not introduce buyers.

Can I get the contact details of the firms I find?

Paid plans show emails and phone numbers where we hold them. Free pass and trial accounts do not show contact details.

Are my searches private?

Yes. Your searches, saved searches and lists are visible only to your own login.
