About SierraCol Energy Ltd.
SierraCol Energy Ltd. is an oil and gas exploration and production company that develops and operates onshore oil fields in Colombia. It is Colombia’s largest independent oil producer. Its main assets are two large, long-producing fields: Caño Limón in the Llanos Basin (Arauca) and La Cira Infantas in the Middle Magdalena Basin, both operated in partnership with the state oil company Ecopetrol. It also holds acreage in the Putumayo Basin. Rather than focusing on new exploration, it concentrates on getting more oil out of its existing reservoirs through enhanced recovery techniques, infill drilling, well optimization, and lower operating costs. Its fields are connected to key pipelines, including Caño Limón–Coveñas. It produces high-quality crude, most of it sold under premium-priced contracts in domestic and export markets. Its gross operated and co-operated production is about 77,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, about 10% of Colombia’s oil output, and it has 2P reserves of about 129 million barrels. It has also cut its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by about 60% since 2020. Founded in 2020, the company is headquartered in London, United Kingdom, with operations based in Bogotá, Colombia.
