About Copia Power
Copia Power is a power and digital infrastructure company that develops, builds, owns, and operates large energy campuses in the United States. Each campus puts power generation, high-voltage transmission, and data center capacity at the same grid connection point. Its portfolio includes utility-scale solar, battery storage, natural gas power plants, and the substations and transmission lines that connect them. It is also developing grid-connected data center sites for hyperscalers and other large users of computing power. Its main project is the Harquahala Valley complex west of Phoenix, which includes the Maricopa Energy Center (550 MW of solar and 2,200 MWh of storage) and a completed 450 MW solar and 1,200 MWh storage project. Both sell power to Arizona Public Service under long-term power purchase agreements. Its other projects include the Belmont Energy campus near Tonopah, Arizona, and the Monarch Data Center campus in Lyon County, Nevada. Its customers include utilities, municipalities, electric cooperatives, hyperscalers, and large corporate buyers. It works mainly in the western US and is expanding into data center markets in the East. It has more than 2.6 GW of generation and storage operating or under construction and more than 9 GW of data center capacity in development. Founded in 2021, the company is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States.
